This two-hour workshop with Professor Patrick McGhee (BABCP, C Psychol) treats transference and countertransference as phenomena of clinical significance well beyond the psychodynamic context — how they function in CBT, humanistic and integrative practice, how to separate subjective countertransference from the objective reactions a client's behaviour would provoke in most practitioners, and recent research on embodied or somatic countertransference.
Suitable for therapists of all theoretical orientations, and particularly for anyone who has found themselves unexpectedly frustrated, bored or entangled with a client and wanted to understand why.
